RoadSonic support

Contact

Write to contact@roadsonic.com, or use Settings › Contact support in the app: it pre-fills your app version, device and iOS version. Replies usually arrive within two business days.

Connecting a server

OpenSubsonic / Navidrome / Ampache / gonic / LMS / Airsonic / Nextcloud Music: enter the full address including the scheme, for example https://music.example.com, then your username and password. RoadSonic uses the Subsonic salted-token scheme, so your password is never sent in the clear; do not put the username or password inside the address. Plex: tap “Connect my Plex account”; sign-in happens on plex.tv and your servers are discovered automatically — local, remote and Relay routes are tried in that order. Jellyfin: use Quick Connect (approve the code in Jellyfin › Settings › Quick Connect) or a username and password. Emby: server address, username and password. Local files: Add a source › Local Files, then pick one or more folders; files are copied into the app's managed storage so they stay playable with the screen off, and the app's Music folder in the Files app is always synced.

HTTP vs HTTPS

HTTPS is required for remote servers. Plain HTTP is accepted only for local-network addresses (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, .local…) and only after you turn on “Allow unencrypted local HTTP” in Settings. If your server is only reachable over HTTP from the Internet, put it behind a reverse proxy with a certificate.

“Ready for the road” and the audio cache

RoadSonic keeps a pinned reserve of complete, verified tracks (20, 30 or 60 minutes, Settings › Audio cache). The badge appears once at least 20 minutes of full files are on the device. The cache budget (2, 5, 10 or 20 GB) is shared by the reserve, the current queue and the albums you download; the oldest unpinned files are evicted first. Downloaded albums are never evicted automatically.

Apple Music

Apple Music is optional and requires an active subscription. Apple Music playback, downloads and cache are managed by Apple; protected tracks are never copied into RoadSonic's cache. Access is granted in Settings › Apple Music and can be revoked there or in iOS Settings › Privacy › Media & Apple Music.

CarPlay

RoadSonic appears on the car screen automatically once installed. If it does not, check iOS Settings › General › CarPlay › your car › Customize. The Listen tab shows recently played, favorites and the Radio; Artists and Albums browse the library with a letter index; Find searches the local index.

Trial and purchase

The 7-day trial starts after the first library sync. The one-time purchase is handled by the App Store; use “Restore purchases” in Settings after reinstalling or on a new device signed in with the same Apple Account. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.

Deleting your data

Settings › Data › Delete all data removes sources, Keychain secrets, indexes, history, favorites, caches, enrichments and imported local copies. Files you placed yourself in Files › RoadSonic › Music are kept.

Reporting a bug

Please include the server type and version, whether you were on Wi-Fi, cellular or CarPlay, and what was playing. Nothing in RoadSonic's logs contains your credentials or server address.
