Everything your server streams — FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, OGG, Opus and more — either as the original file or transcoded by the server according to its own settings. Local files use the formats iOS can decode.

No. There is no RoadSonic account, no analytics and no tracking. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. Credentials stay in the iOS Keychain and the library index stays on your device.

Yes. Add as many sources as you want. Artists, albums, favorites and search are merged, and exact duplicates are recognized by their MusicBrainz and ISRC identifiers, so you never have to pick a server to find a song.

It appears once at least 20 minutes of complete, verified tracks are stored on the iPhone. You choose a reserve of 20, 30 or 60 minutes in Settings › Audio cache; RoadSonic refills it while you listen.

You pick a budget of 2, 5, 10 or 20 GB. It is shared by the reserve, the current queue and the albums you download. The oldest unpinned files are evicted first; downloaded albums are never evicted automatically.

Remote servers must use HTTPS. Plain HTTP is accepted only for local-network addresses (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, .local) and only after you enable “Allow unencrypted local HTTP” in Settings.

No. Apple Music is optional: link a subscription to search the catalog, play your Apple Music library and get Discovery picks in the Radio. Playback of Apple Music tracks stays managed by Apple.

Play reports are sent to your own server according to its settings (Navidrome, for example, can forward them to Last.fm or ListenBrainz). RoadSonic itself sends nothing to any third party.

iOS 18 or later on iPhone and iPad. CarPlay requires a compatible car.

Yes, RoadSonic runs on iPad with iPadOS 18 or later. Purchases are shared between your devices signed in with the same Apple Account.

Settings › Data › Delete all data removes sources, Keychain secrets, indexes, history, favorites, caches, enrichments and imported local copies in one tap.
