No. Lyrics from your server are used automatically; LRCLIB is queried only when the server has none. Lookups are skipped offline and cached afterwards.
Synchronized lyrics and karaoke
RoadSonic shows the words of what you are playing, synchronized with the music, and turns any track into a karaoke session — from your own files, not from a streaming catalog.
Lyrics from your server first
When your server provides lyrics — OpenSubsonic lyrics endpoint, embedded LRC or plain-text tags — RoadSonic uses them. Otherwise it looks up LRCLIB using the artist, title and duration, and caches the result on the device.
A karaoke view that follows the song
Synchronized lyrics are highlighted line by line as the track plays, in the player and in a dedicated karaoke view. Plain-text lyrics are shown when no timing is available.
Artists, biographies and concerts
Artist pages add biography, artwork, top tracks, latest releases and upcoming concerts, fetched with public identifiers only — never with your account or location.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, once fetched they are cached with the track. Tracks in the offline reserve keep their lyrics.
Only the artist, title, album and duration of the track. No account, device or location identifier.

Your music server on CarPlay
RoadSonic was designed for the car first. The CarPlay interface shows exactly what you need while driving — and keeps playing through tunnels thanks to a verified reserve of complete tracks on the iPhone.
→Offline, verified, never silent
Streaming from your own server is great until the network drops. RoadSonic treats offline as the normal case: a pinned reserve, resumable album downloads and an on-device index that never needs the server to answer.
→Sound you control, per output
The same album should not sound the same on the car speakers and on in-ear headphones. RoadSonic keeps a separate sound profile for every output and recalls it automatically.
